Minecraft has officially revealed a new collection of Minecraft Dungeons II capes and cosmetic rewards.
Additionally, some of them won’t be limited to Dungeons II.
Several of the newly announced capes can also be unlocked in Minecraft: Java Edition and Bedrock Edition. This gives cape collectors several new cosmetics to look forward to throughout 2026.
With Minecraft Dungeons II launching on September 29, 2026, we share what we know about the new capes.
Additionally, here’s everything we currently know and how they can be obtained.
Hero Cape
Hero Cape
The Hero Cape is a new red and gold cape created for Minecraft Dungeons II. Its design features a deep crimson base with golden embroidery across the cape.
More importantly for Minecraft cape collectors, the Hero Cape isn’t exclusive to Dungeons II.
How to get the Hero Cape
Unlocking it requires players to complete the required steps for Minecraft Dungeons 2 capes.
- Play the original Minecraft Dungeons.
- Log into Minecraft Dungeons II before December 31, 2026.
- Use the same Microsoft account across the games.
After the Hero Cape appears as unlocked in Minecraft Dungeons II, players can log into Minecraft: Java Edition and/or Bedrock Edition using the same Microsoft account to receive the cape there as well.
This means the Hero Cape will become a fully usable Minecraft cape rather than simply being a Dungeons II cosmetic.
Twisted Cape
The Twisted Cape is another newly announced cape, featuring a dark, spine-like design inspired by the sculkier and more mysterious environments of Minecraft Dungeons II.
Unlike the Hero Cape, this one is tied to pre-ordering Minecraft Dungeons II.
How to get the Twisted Cape
Players must pre-order Minecraft Dungeons II before the game launches on September 29.
Once Dungeons II launches:
- Log into Minecraft Dungeons II using the Microsoft account associated with the pre-order.
- Confirm that the pre-order rewards have been received.
- Log into Minecraft Java and/or Bedrock Edition using the same Microsoft account.
The Twisted Cape will then also unlock in regular Minecraft.
The pre-order package additionally contains the Twisted Chicken pet and special versions of Steve and Alex for Minecraft Dungeons II.
Corrupted Creeper Cape
The Corrupted Creeper Cape may be the most interesting announcement for collectors.
The cape features a soul-corrupted Creeper face and is being distributed differently from the Hero and Twisted capes.
Instead of being connected directly to purchasing the game, Minecraft says the Corrupted Creeper Cape will appear through various promotional activities both online and offline before and around the launch of Minecraft Dungeons II.
How to get the Corrupted Creeper Cape
The first confirmed distribution is happening in person at Gamescom.
Minecraft has also confirmed that additional opportunities will be announced later, including other promotional events.
This means Gamescom isn’t necessarily the only opportunity to obtain the cape.
More online and offline methods are expected to appear as we get closer to the September 29 launch.

Soul Cape
Minecraft also revealed the new Soul Cape as part of the Minecraft Dungeons II Deluxe Edition.
The cape features a blue soul-inspired design matching the darker aesthetic of Dungeons II.
How to get the Soul Cape
The Soul Cape is included with the:
Minecraft Dungeons II Deluxe Edition
The Deluxe Edition also includes:
- Blub pet
- Soul Cape
- Four dark-golden hero variants for Valorie, Kellen, Ren, and Flores
At the moment, Minecraft’s announcement describes the Soul Cape as part of the Dungeons II Deluxe Edition rewards.
Unlike the Hero and Twisted capes, the announcement does not currently confirm that the Soul Cape will transfer to Minecraft Java or Bedrock Edition.
Unless Minecraft provides additional information, it should therefore be considered a Minecraft Dungeons II cosmetic.
Mysterious “Special Cape”
There’s also one cape we know almost nothing about.
Minecraft has revealed a colorful cosmetic simply called the Special Cape.
Its acquisition method remains a secret.
Minecraft only says that players should stay tuned for more information, suggesting that another promotion, event, or campaign could be planned.
For cape collectors, this is definitely one to keep an eye on.

The biggest confirmed additions for regular Minecraft players are currently the Hero Cape and Twisted Cape, both of which Minecraft specifically states are coming to Java and Bedrock Edition.
More Dungeons II Cape Promotions Are Coming
The Corrupted Creeper Cape announcement is particularly interesting because Minecraft has already confirmed that its Gamescom distribution is only the start of its promotional activities.
That means additional opportunities to obtain Dungeons II cosmetics are expected before and around launch.
The mysterious Special Cape also remains completely unexplained.
With Minecraft Dungeons II launching September 29, 2026, cape collectors should keep an eye on upcoming Minecraft announcements, events, and online promotions over the next few weeks.

The sequel will introduce new locations, enemies, equipment, heroes, cosmetics, and the mysterious Sift dimension.
